It’s sometimes so pronounced that it burdens the audience.

I mean, who wants to see how the Mad Hatter became mad?

At this rate, I’d rather see a flick with first-person narration than one with backstory.

Why We Pay the Big Bucks

But when you’re watching the film on the edge of your seat, it’s forgotten.

It might not fly with the critics, but at least it would be original.

So it’s pretentious junk. Taste is subjective, after all … isn’t it?
